A mobile-friendly website can be many things but essentially it’s your website presence (if you have one) that’s viewable on a mobile device - an iPhone, Android or tablet. If your web designer and developer have done their job the site will look fine on your customers’ smartphone or tablet as it does on their desktop. Fantastic, but you can, and probably should, take this a step further. Mobile devices have much smaller screens and interacting with a website designed for a larger monitor may prove to be cumbersome. Your potential customer who may leave in frustration at not being able to find what they want.
